[By Jisun Yoo] Bucheon FC rang a winning streak on its Suwon FC tour and continued its four-game winning streak after the opening of the season.
Bucheon won the KEB Hana Bank's K-League 2 (Challenge), the four-round game against Suwon FC at Suwon Sports Complex at 3 p.m. on Friday, 1-0. It marked the fourth consecutive win since the opening of the season and led the team with 12 points.
On the same day, Suwon FC was led by Matheus Alves Leandro with Mo Jae-Hyun and Lee Seung-hyun helping offense from the side. Seo Dong-Hyun stood behind him. On the contrary, Bucheon deployed the 4-4-2 formation with the help of Kong Min-Hyun and Lee Hyun-seung.
Bucheon scored the first goal in the early minutes. Kim Beom-yong let Bucheon earn a penalty kick after committing a foul inside the penalty box. Bucheon finally took the lead by one goal as Willian Popp made a successful penalty kick.
Afterwards, a duel between the two teams took place, but the goal was rarely held. Similar trends followed in the second half. While Suwon FC started to fight back from the beginning of the second half, Kim Bum-yong's shooting ended in failure in the 23rd minute, and Bucheon responded with a quick change of air traffic.
Bucheon shook the net of Suwon FC's shooting at 31 minutes in the second half but was not recognized as a score when the offside penalty was announced, and VAR readings did not reverse the judgment. To make matters worse, Bucheon was sent off in the 37th minute for cumulative yellow cards when Kong hit the goalkeeper, and both teams ended the game with a score of 1-0 with no additional score.
